Experimentation with interrelating different materials, techniques and disciplines references all my work. Images are perpetuated in series, which evolve until the idea is exhausted. This entails variations of structure, colour handling, scale a general thrusting into new perception of the conceptual and emotional. Sources are mainly routed in Africa, but the ancient and ethnic artefacts seen in visits to other countries inform my work. My preoccupation is with images that are ancient, in decline, decaying and fossilised the remnants of time and history clinging to the past to establish one’s place in the present, and perhaps the future.
