Westland Place

Westland Place Studios is one of the longest established surviving studio complexes in the Hoxton/Moorlands area: 3-11 Westland Place is home to painters, printmakers, illustrators, sculptors, designers, and installation artists. The building represents the creative diversity associated with Hoxton, breathing life back into what once was an industrial district of London in decline. Current artists in these studios are Edith Gubbay, Richard Sharples, Jan Goodkin, Simon Williams, Desmond Healey, Susan Austin, Shiela Ogilvy, Mary Oley, Emma Ronay, Teresa Narduzzo, Michael Czerwinski, Sally Grey, Helly McGrother, Mark Hudson.

The artists' studios are spread over three floors of a turn of the century industrial building, five minutes walk from Old Street underground station, round the corner from the iconic Shepherdess Café and sandwiched between Jamie Oliver's restaurant Fifteen and the fashionable fireplace shop Renaissance. You have seen our building before, either as a back drop for Jamie Oliver's recent TV series Fifteen and School Dinners, or as a film set for numerous pop promos and blockbusters including Closer starring Jude Law, Julia Roberts and Natalie Portman.

This London studios building is a remarkable century old factory where Miller and Sons are still printing on the second floor and have been since 1963. Whilst surrounding buildings fall into the developers hands, thanks to the support of Prime Commercial Properties and their enthusiasm and belief in the arts and the resident artists at Westland Place, Westland Place Studios has survived intact and continues to grow in stature.
