My work focuses mainly on the human form, both in paint and sculpture. Many of my paintings are about music and its use as a unifier of people, and so show groups of people playing and watching music being performed. Many of my compositions evolve from random shape making initially, which are then worked on to try to formulate a cohesive and comprehensible whole. My sculptures tend to be of the figure and I have been working using breeze blocks, due to the softness of the material and its rough, larva like appearance, and sandstone, which is harder to carve but is capable of giving a much smoother finish.
